IT ALSO TASTES ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. IT MAKES OUR BATTER MORE EXPENSIVE (FOR US BUT NOT OUR CUSTOMERS) THAN USING WHOLESALE BATTER MIX OUT OF A PACKET BUT WE THINK IT’S 100% WORTH IT.

ALL OUR FISH ARE SUSTAINABLY SOURCED – BEING CAUGHT IN THE ICY WATERS OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC, HOME TO THE WORLD’S LARGEST COD STOCKS. AND WE DON’T MESS ABOUT WITH THEM. WE SERVE ONLY THE MOST GENEROUS FILLETS CUT STRAIGHT FROM THE SIDE OF THE BEST COD OR HADDOCK.

ALL OUR POTATOES (WE USE ONLY TOP QUALITY SAGITTAS – THE BEST STRAIN OF POTATOES FOR CHIPS) ARE SOURCED FROM FARMERS IN GRADE ONE GROWING AREAS USING CERTIFIED SEEDS. CHIPPED AND DRIED IN THE SHOP EVERY MORNING, THEY’RE THEN FRIED IN BEST QUALITY BEEF DRIPPING.

WE MAKE OUR MUSHY PEAS THE TRADITIONAL WAY WITH MARROWFAT PEAS – AND A SPRINKLING OF FRESH MINT FROM A LOCAL GREENGROCER. WE GIVE THE CLASSIC FISH & CHIP SHOP SAUCES A TWIST TOO: TO OUR CURRY SAUCE WE ADD OUR OWN MIX OF SPICES AND WE MAKE OUR GRAVY TO OUR OWN SECRET RECIPE.
